Pumpkin Patches In and Near Oak Glen
Apple picking may be what Oak Glen is best known for, but pumpkins are a big part of fall here too. If you’re planning an October trip to Oak Glen, you have several very different pumpkin-picking experiences to choose from – from walking through a real pumpkin field to a full-scale fall attraction packed with rides and activities.
Some are right in Oak Glen, while others are just a short drive away. Here are four pumpkin patches worth knowing about when planning your fall visit.
Los Rios Rancho Pumpkin Patch
If you’re already spending the day in Oak Glen, Los Rios Rancho is one of the easiest places to add pumpkins to your itinerary.
Los Rios is one of Oak Glen’s best-known fall destinations, with apple picking, fresh cider, barbecue, farm activities and access to the surrounding Oak Glen Preserve. During the fall season, its north side also includes a pumpkin patch and corn maze. For 2026, the pumpkin patch opened September 19.
This is a particularly good choice for families who want to experience several classic Oak Glen activities in one stop. You can pick apples, grab lunch, explore the farm and trails, and then choose a pumpkin before heading home.
Why visit Los Rios:
A classic Oak Glen fall day where pumpkins are just one part of the experience.
Location: 39611 Oak Glen Road, Yucaipa, CA 92399.
Good to Know
Los Rios gets extremely busy on October weekends. It is recommended to arrive early. Please note that activities and U-pick availability can change depending on weather and crop supply. Parking and admission are currently free.
Riley’s Farm U-Pick Pumpkins
If your idea of pumpkin picking involves actually walking into a field and choosing your pumpkin from where it grew, Riley’s Farm is probably the most traditional option on this list.
Riley’s grows pumpkins across several acres, and visitors can walk through the fields looking for the right one. The farm grows multiple varieties, and some pumpkins get large enough that Riley’s says they’ll even use a tractor to help move the biggest ones.
There’s something different about picking a pumpkin in a real field rather than choosing one from a display. Kids get the experience of searching through vines and hillsides for their pumpkin, and the Oak Glen mountain setting makes the experience feel unmistakably like fall.
Why visit Riley’s Farm:
Go here if the actual U-Pick experience matters most to you.
Location: 12261 S. Oak Glen Road, Oak Glen, CA 92399.
Good to Know
Riley’s Farm’s regular 2026 public hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and U-Pick crops are seasonal and subject to availability. Check the farm’s current crop schedule before making the drive specifically for pumpkins.
Greenspot Farms Pumpkin Patch
For something that feels more like the old-fashioned pumpkin patches many locals grew up visiting, make the short drive down the mountain to Greenspot Farms in Mentone.
Greenspot is a working, multigenerational family farm tucked into the foothills below Oak Glen. During October, pumpkins take over the farm, along with hayrides, farm animals, a hay maze, train rides, crafts and other activities.
One of the things we like about Greenspot is that it still feels like a real farm rather than a temporary carnival built around pumpkins. It’s quaint, casual and a little more low-key than some of the huge Southern California pumpkin attractions.
And here’s an increasingly rare bonus:
Parking and admission are free.
For 2026, the pumpkin patch opens October 1 and is scheduled to operate daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Greenspot also offers its Haunted Hayride on select October nights. I have personally done the hayride multiple times and it’s always a blast! If you like all things spooky and a good jump scare, it will be right up your alley.
Why visit Greenspot Farms:
For a traditional, small-farm pumpkin-patch experience with free parking and admission.
Location: 10133 Ward Way, Mentone, CA 92359.
A Local Favorite
Greenspot doesn’t always receive the attention of the bigger Oak Glen attractions, but that’s part of its charm. For families looking for pumpkins without turning the outing into an all-day amusement-park experience, this one deserves a spot on the list.
Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch
And then there’s Live Oak Canyon.
If Greenspot is the quaint neighborhood pumpkin patch, Live Oak Canyon is closer to the Disneyland of pumpkin patches.
It is enormous.
Live Oak Canyon describes itself as the largest pumpkin patch in Southern California, with more than 70 rides, games and attractions in addition to pumpkins, a corn maze, flower gardens, food and hundreds of animals in its petting zoo.
You can absolutely come here to get a pumpkin – but for most families, the pumpkin becomes only one part of the visit.
Expect rides. Games. Food. Photo opportunities. Lights. Crowds. And plenty for kids to do.
For 2026, Live Oak Canyon is scheduled to run from September 17 through November 2 on selected days. Unlike the first three places on this list, admission is normally ticketed and pricing varies by day, although the farm occasionally offers special free-admission dates. Parking is free but expect to park a decent distance away and take a tram in.
Why visit Live Oak Canyon:
Go here when you’re looking for a full fall festival or theme-park-style experience, not simply a place to pick out a pumpkin.
Location: 32335 Live Oak Canyon Road, Redlands, CA 92373.
Which Oak Glen-Area Pumpkin Patch Should You Visit?
These four places are different enough that there’s really not one pumpkin patch that works best for everyone.
If you’re already spending the day apple picking in Oak Glen, Los Rios is the easiest pumpkin stop to work into your trip.
If you want your kids to walk through a real field and pick their own pumpkin, Riley’s Farm offers the most authentic U-Pick experience.
If you’d rather visit a quaint, traditional farm pumpkin patch without paying just to park or walk through the gate, drive down to Greenspot Farms.
And if your kids hear “pumpkin patch” and envision rides, games, food and hours of entertainment, Live Oak Canyon is in an entirely different category.
You could even build a full fall weekend around them.
Make a Day of It in Oak Glen
Pumpkin season overlaps with the busiest part of apple season in Oak Glen, which makes October one of the best – and busiest – times of the year to visit.
If you’re coming from Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside or elsewhere in Southern California, consider arriving early and making a full day of it. Pick apples, grab some cider or pie, visit a pumpkin patch and leave a little time to simply enjoy the mountain scenery.
And especially on October weekends, come early. Oak Glen’s roads, orchards and parking areas can get busy surprisingly quickly.
Before heading out, always check each farm’s website or social media for current pumpkin availability, hours and weather-related changes. Crops are seasonal, and what’s available can change from one weekend to the next.
